Sonderborg City Information

Sonderborg city Denmark is the first town after crossing the German-Danish border coming from Flensburg. This city is a great place for a visit with its beautiful buildings, nice shopping street, a windmill, city center right by the water, a palace, and seaside promenade. The place is a wonderful place to buy exciting things like 100s of kinds of beer or cookies or newspapers in a strange language. Sonderburg city Denmark is a municipality in South Jutland County partially on the Jutland peninsula and partially on the island of Als in south Denmark.

Sonderborg is an attractive and the largest town of about 30,000 inhabitants on the island of Als. Als is connected to the mainland by bridges, and the visitors can have nice time on a green holiday island, with a coastline that is perfect for swimming, sailing, and angling. The tourists can relax and can almost do anything from diving to gliding. The city has a friendly, quiet atmosphere, but because of the large student population, the social life in Sonderborg is lively. Sonderburg city Denmark region, there are some 300 manufacturing industries. Most of them are small or medium-sized companies, involved in electronics, metalworking, and the production of high technology communication equipment. Visitors to the city can have a great time visiting sonderborg attractions in the region.  Sonderborg Slot (castle) is a popular tourist attraction, overlooking the straight which divides Als Island from the mainland. It was this fortuitous location which gave the castle its beginnings, as a toll collection facility and a defensive fort. The museum focuses on the people and the way they lived, particularly their textiles and crafts; it also has a number of displays related to the 1864 War. Broager Kirke (Church) is a perfect Danish historical sonderborg attraction. It’s a quiet and unassuming despite its long history, exquisite artwork, and its role in history's turning points. This is the heart of what makes Denmark tick. Like many churches from this era, it began as a small romanesque-style building which was renovated many times over the following centuries. Visitors flock to Dansk Glaskunst which is unique that it is not only a store, but a workplace. The guests can check out the artists while they are working, handblowing, shaping, and colouring their stunning glass creations. The workplace is located in the back of the store.

With the right combination of historical sites along with the modern setting makes it a ideal destination for the tourists.
